The text of the book, written in praise of CARDINAL ANNIBALE ALBANI (1682-1751), is comprised of cantatas, sonnets, and eclogues by members of the Accademia dell' Arcadia whose arcadic and real names are listed on p. 72-73. "Api Sologorgeo", the author of the cantatas, is identified as Marchese Scipione Sacrati Giraldi. The four folding plates illustrate the outdoor amphitheater with the assembled crowd in attendance and scenes from the cantatas, including a hillside setting and one depicting the underground grottoes.
