On 21 June 1744, the city of Milan celebrated the elevation of GIUSEPPE POZZOBONELLI to Archbishop of Milan, having been elected on 15 July of that same year. One plate illustrates the lengthy and solemn processional of Pozzobonelli to the Cathedral of Milan and identifies several other important participants, while the others show the numerous triumphal arches erected throughout the city in honor of the event. Pozzobonelli was promoted to the rank of Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church on 9 September 1743. Vinet 798.
