4o (224 x 162 mm). Two large folding plates by AND. MAILLAR after the designs of FERDINANDO SAN FELICE. (Quire F misbound.) Contemporary Italian vellum over pasteboard. Provenance: Antonio San Felice, Bishop of Nardo and brother of the artist (presentation inscription on title).

The funeral obsequies in Naples for ELEONORE MAGDALENE TERESA of the Palatinate-Neuberg (1655-1720), Holy Roman Empress and wife of Leopold I. PRESENTATION COPY, presented by the artist Ferdinando San Felice (1675-1748) to his brother Antonio San Felice, the Bishop of Nardo, and thereafter given to the public library there that he founded. Fernando San Felice was a pupil of Solimena's and produced noteworthy landscapes and perspectival views, as well as several altarpieces with help from his master. He was a wealthy man and had Solimena decorate a gallery in his house which later became an academy for young painters. VERY RARE.
