Two-page typewritten letter dated July 16, 1965 on Southern Christian Leadership Conference stationary from Martin Luther King Jr. to Sammy Davis Jr., in which King requests Davis' presence at a benefit in Atlanta, In Atlanta, you would have a completely interracial audience. I am convinced that the audience would be 50 white, so along with the brilliant performance you would give you would also serve the purpose of bringing Negroes and whites together in a way that our nation so desperately needs.
Signed with a secretarial signature Martin in black ink. Accompanied by a black and white portrait of King, and two photos of King and family.
