Wyatt MacGaffey (dans Treasures from the Africa-Museum, Tervuren, 1995, p.291) déclare que de tels pots étaient faits pour répondre à la demande de souvenirs des européens la fin du siècle dernier.
Traditionnellement un métier féminin, il fut inhabituel voire unique que Voania Muba réalise des poteries et les transforme en sculpture d'argile.


Wyatt MacGaffey (in Treasures from The Africa-Museum, Tervuren, 1995, p.291) states that such pots were made in response to the demand from Europeans for souvenirs at the end of the last century. Voania Muba was unusual and perhaps unique in taking up pottery, traditionally a woman's craft, and transforming it into a new kind of sculpture in clay.
