Lot Essay

We are grateful to Professor Andrea de Marchi for drawing our attention to Professor Boskovits's publication. The panel is by one of the leading painters active in Trecento Arezzo, whom Boskovits has tentatively identified as Andrea di Neri. It formed part of a series of scenes from the lives of the two Saint Johns.
