Upholstered in pale green cotton, with scrolled reeded arm terminals on square legs with brass caps and castors, stamped 'Lamb Manchester'

Lot Essay

James Lamb of Manchester launched his business in 1843 and was one of the most successful British cabinet-makers, winning commendations for his 'Art Furniture' at the London 1862 Exhibition, the Paris 1867 Exhibition and a gold medal at the Paris 1878 Exhibition.
