Lot Essay

James Lamb of Manchester launched his business in 1843 and was one of the most successful British cabinet-makers, winning commendations for his 'Art Furniture' at the London 1862 Exhibition, the Paris 1867 Exhibition and a gold medal at the Paris 1878 Exhibition.
