Lot Essay

The richly crafted table reflects the 1870s Victorian 'Anglo-Moresque' or 'Moorish' style, such as that introduced by Messrs Gillows of Oxford Street introduced to the Royal Pavilion, South Kensington at the 1884 International Health Exhibition (see P. Agius, British Furniture 1880-1915, 1978).
