Lot Essay

The present lot is a manuscript map of the Islands of Malta and Gozo, copied and corrected by Fr. S.C. de Sprety in 1791 after a version originally executed in 1752, whilst the Islands were under the command of the Grand Master of the Knight of Malta Emanuel de Rohan-Polduc (1725-1797).
