Lot Essay

Peter de Wint's granddaughter, Miss Harriet Helen Tatlock (d. 1922), had a large collection of works by the artist. On her death these were left to Miss Muriel Bostock (d. 1942), who had been the companion to Miss Tatlock for many years. Miss Bostock continued to expand the collection, purchasing many further watercolours by the artist.
