A VICTORIAN GILT-METAL-MOUNTED FIGURED WALNUT AND KINGWOOD CROSSBANDED MARQUETRY BUREAU PLAT
Third-quarter 19th century
The shaped rectangular top of serpentine outline with a central inlaid cartouche depicting a stag and a hound in a landscape and encircled by profuse marquetry, mother-of-pearl and ivory inlay, the foliate and C-scroll ornament cast mounts above three frieze drawers on tall cabriole legs with similar mounts, terminating in foliate cast sabots
