the English wares comprising an ivory-handled butter knife, London, 1787, two ivory-handled mechanical cheese scoops, Birmingham, 19th century, an ivory-handled cheese scoop, Birmingham, 1810, ten pairs of sugar tongs, fourteen mustard spoons, five teaspoons, a mote spoon, and a marrow spoon; the other wares comprising an ivory-handled fish slice, Dublin, 1784, a marrow spoon, marked Dublin, a pair of sugar tongs, a pair of tongs, a fork, and five lobster picks, all marked variously; together with two English letter openers, fully marked, an ivory-handled silver folding Continental fruit fork, Dutch import mark, a large dog-nose spoon, a pistol-handled carving set with steel tines and blade, a pair of tongs with silvered metal arms, and a meat skewer, all indistinctly marked; a Continental silver ivory-handled three-tined mechanical condiment fork, two toddy ladles with baleen handles, a straining spoon with a wood handle, a serving spoon with a wood handle, and a teaspoon, all apparently unmarked
