Dieses Bild gehört in eine wichtige, circa zehn Werke umfassende Gruppe von Bildern, die Hinterreiter zwischen 1937 und 1942 im Hinblick auf Ausstellungen der Schweizer Künstlergruppe ALLIANZ geschaffen hat. Deren sechs sind in der Ausstellung im Kunsthaus Zürich vom 23. Mai-21. Juni 1942 präsentiert worden. Sie sind wie die kleinen Vorstudien, die ihnen zugrunde liegen, noch mit Temperafarbe ausgeführt und waren, wie das hier angebotene Werk, in hell gestrichene Rahmen eingelassen, die Max Bill für seinen Freund angefertigt hatte.

This painting belongs to an important, approximately ten work comprehensive group of paintings, which Hinterreiter created between 1937 and 1942 regarding exhibitions of the Swiss group of artists called ALLIANZ. Six of these works were displayed in Kunsthaus Zurich from 23 May to 21 June 1942. They are implemented like the small preliminary studies, which are the basis for them, still in tempera, and were inserted, like the work offered here, into brightly painted frames, which Max Bill had made for his friend.
