"The 1996 Krug Clos du Mesnil showed notes of tropical fruit and lime peel on the nose along with a fresh, primary floral element that is immediately seductive. As it opens, the wine shows an undercurrent of mineral notes and a toasty brioche character as it unfolds. On the palate the wine has a fresh, clean, round, rich mouthfeel and firm acidity without being in any way tart.
