Three gray schist heads
Gandhara, 2nd/3rd century
The first of Buddha with almond-shaped eyes, full lips and a clearly delineated urna, his curled locks gathered over the ushnisha; the second of Maitreya elegantly carved with wavy locks of hair secured with a band and tied into a topknot; the third of a Bodhisattva, slightly turned to the side, with heavy-lidded eyes and a moustache
