A gilt bronze figure of Avalokiteshvara
Nepal, 14th/15th century
Standing over a circular lotus base with beaded rims, his left hand in varadamudra and his right raised in vitarkamudra and holding the stem of a lotus, clad in a long dhoti with incised foliate pattern and tied with a long sash flaring at his sides, further adorned with beaded jewelry, his face in a serene expression with an urna centered above his eyes, his hair with the remains of blue pigment arranged in a high chignon and secured with a foliate tiara
