A large bronze figure of Buddha
Thailand, Chiang Saen, 15th century
Well-cast with the Buddha seated in maravijaya on a lotus base, his right hand in bhumisparsamudra and his left resting in his lap, clad in a diaphanous sanghati with incised hems, his face in a meditative expression with full lips and downcast eyes inlaid with mother-of-pearl, flanked by elongated earlobes and with his tightly curled hair rising over the ushnisha and surmounted by a flaming finial
