Excellent levels Tasting note: Lovely colour; initially not very clear-cut, a mild 'beetroot' aroma, opening up fragrantly but showing its age; better on the palate, sweet and soft, yet with quite a bite. The La Romanée vineyard is often expressed in hushed tones even among Burgundy enthusiasts. It is the smallest of the Grand Crus at .8452 ha, as well as being the smallest appellation in France; the production averaging about 300 cases per annum.
