The top inset with a shallow dish painted with a portrait of Marie de Medicis, surrounded by seventeen oval portrait plaques depicting court beauties, each inscribed with the sitter's name, and one plaque with gilt-embossed shield, on a baluster support flanked by three ormolu volutes, on a triform base
