A Vienna porcelain polychrome gallant group
Late 19th Century, marked in underglaze blue with a pseudo Bindenschild and R for the Grossbaum manufactory
Naturalistically modelled in relief and inspired by the Sorgenthal period examples, depicting two seated ladies surrounding a gentleman holding a cage enclosing a tiny bird, flanked by three sheep and a recumbent dog and on an oval flower-encrusted rockwork base, the sides with a gilt band of intertwined rings
Circa 31cm. high

Grossbaum started imitating Vienna porcelain products in 1889.
