A METAL THREAD EMBROIDERED OTTOMAN PORTIERE
TURKEY, 19TH CENTURY
Of typical form with cusped arch, the dark brown velvet ground embroidered in couched gilt thread, a mosque with two minarets on each side, a large medallion with pseudo-calligraphy at top, others with floral composition on foliage, bordered by bands of pseudo-inscription, with black velvet borders, minor fraying, one small tear but otherwise good condition
