The case of waisted form with pierced scrolling foliate mounts and painted overall with flowers, glazed panels to the sides, stamped beneath the pediment A. Gosselin, the white enemalled dial with Roman and Arabic sector chapters signed in the centre Jarle à Paris, pierced metal hands, the twin-going barrel movement with later anchor escapement and countwheel strike on a bell to pediment above, with repeat signature to the backplate, with waisted wall bracket painted with flowers and a bird nesting, case redecorated, partially remounted

Jean-Antoine Jarle, maître in 1765, was based in the Rue Pastourelle between 1772 and 1789
Antoine Gosselin, maître in 1752, who hailed from the region of Amiens, was based in the Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine.
