A set of eight porcelain cups and saucers
by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St Petersburg, period of Nicholas I
Each shaped cup on a spreading circular foot, the body painted with bouquets of garden and wild flowers and floral sprays against the lilac reserve, with a band of moulded gilt flower-heads beneath, gilt band interiors, scroll and shell handles, the saucers similarly painted, all with undulating gilt rims, marked under bases with blue underglaze crowned cypher 'N I'
the cups: 2½ in. (6.5 cm.) high; saucers 5¾ in. (14.6 cm.) diameter (16)
