A Russian ormolu and Tula cut-steel mantel clock
late 18th century, the movement by de Saint-Jean, Paris
Surmounted by the Imperial double-headed eagle, the circular glazed dial with Roman and Arabic characters flanked by laurel branches, on a quadrangular fluted column, mounted on a rectangular plinth decorated with books and laurel swagged garland, on four circular feet, the aperture and details with cut-steel decoration, the dial signed 'de Saint Jean/Paris'
