Each painted after Bisson with a three-quarter length portrait of a brunette beauty in classical drapery, depicted expectantly listening or watching

Lot Essay

Edouard Bisson, French, (b.1856) student of Gérome is best known for his works from around 1900 which reflected the beauty of woman from La Belle Epoque. He won many awards, including a bronze medal at the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1900 and in 1908 when he was made Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur.
