Second edition, preferred over the first because it includes the chart of the western and southern oceans, as well as the text relating to Greenland and whaling. Narbrough sailed on board the Batchelour in 1699 as part of a commission to find a western opening for the Northwest Passage and explore the west coast of the Americas. His narrative is combined with Abel Janzoon Tansman's account of his famous voyage of 1642, which led to the discovery of Tasmania and New Zealand. Hill 1476; NMM 810; Sabin 72186; Wing N-154.
