SIX EARLY JADE FIGURAL PENDANTS, SHANG/ZHOU DYNASTY (1600-771BC)
comprising a brown jade pendant carved as a tiger emerging from a chrysalis, drill hole through mouth end; a buff brown stone jade bird in profile, drill hole through the eye; a semi transluscent tan and opaque cream stone carved as an animal in profile, incised eye and leg detailing, drill hole to mouth area; a yellow white jade stone carved as a guei dragon in profile with incised geometric embellishments, ending in a point to one end, possibly used as a knot opener, drill hole to mouth area; an altered green jade stone carved as a guei dragon, incised leg detailing, drill holes to the tail, eye and mouth; a pale celadon and cream dragon pendant, with incised facial detailing, drill hole through lower projection; an archaistic white jade tiger, carved in profile with its head turned back, incised detailing drill hole to breast -- The first, 1 5/8in.
