A RUSSIAN GREY KALGAN JASPER EGG-CUP AND RHONONITE EGG

The egg-cup on circular spreading foot, the body decorated with carved acanthus leaves and border; together with an ovoid rhodonite egg, apparently unmarked, the egg-cup engraved with 'XII' and Russian inscription under base, in original red leather fitted box stamped on the cover with the Russian Imperial coat-of-arms
the cup 2¼ in. (5.8 cm.) high
The Russian inscription reads: 'The Imperial Ekaterinburg Lapidary Fact[ory] Managing director V. Mostovenko 1890. '
