A VICTORIAN SILVER COMMEMORATIVE PORTRAIT NECKLACE
Designed as eleven circular silver slides, each containing a miniature photograph comprising; Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their nine children, each with christian name engraved to the reverse, on a twin black ribbon, ribbon damaged, dated DEC:6:1860.
The inscriptions read;
'VICTORIA R DEC:6:1860' for Queen Victoria (1819-1901)
'ALBERT' for Prince Albert, The Prince Consort (1819-1961)
'Beatrice' for Princess Beatrice, later Princess Henry of Battenberg (1857-1944)
'Leopold' for Prince Leopold, later Duke of Albany (1853-1884), 'Arthur' for Prince Arthur, later Duke of Connaught and Strathearn (1850-1942)
'Louise' for Princess Louise, Later Duchess of Argyll (1848-1939)
'Helena' for Princess Helena, later Princess Christian of Schleswig Holstein (1846-1923)
'Alfred' for Prince Alfred, later Duke of Edinburgh and Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha
'Alice' for Princess Alice, later Grand Duchess of Hesse Darmstadt (1843-1878)
'Albert Edward' for Prince Albert Edward, later Prince of Wales and then King Edward VII (1841-1910)
'Victoria' for Princess Victoria, later Empress of Germany (1840-1901).
