The rectangular top above an arrangement of two short and three long graduated drawers flanked by carved pilasters on brown porcelain castors, the reverse bearing a paper label for 'Christr Pratt & Sons/Cabinet Makers and Upholsterers/Carpet and Bedding Warehousemen/Bradford' and a further label for 'PAUL REEVES/FURNITURE AND ARTEFACTS/1860-1960, the locks stamped '2 LEVER' and 'H'

Christopher Pratt & Sons of Bradford offered a complete house-furnishing service. In their 1901 catalogue they acknowleged that 'modern furniture design consists very largely in the imitation of old styles'. (J. Cooper, Victorian and Edwardian Furniture and Interiors, London, 1987.)
