A MEISSEN TWO-HANDLED TUREEN, COVER AND SAUCER STAND
CIRCA 1739-40, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS, PRESSNUMMER 21 TO STAND
The tureen with flat pierced handles, painted with a bird perched on flowering shrubs, the domed cover with scattered stylised flowers around a cone finial, the cell pattern border reserved with panels of butterflies within a gilt line rim, the stand similarly decorated within a gilt line rim (minute chip to underside of one handle, cover with tip of finial restored and very slight wear to gilt rim, stand with some wear to well and to gilding)
