TWO MEISSEN FIGURES MOUNTED ON ORMOLU CANDELABRA BASES
THE FIGURES CIRCA 1745, THE ORMOLU FIRST HALF OF THE 20TH CENTURY
The figures modelled by J.J. Kändler, one as a dancing peasant, his arms outstretched, the other as a vintner eating a bunch of grapes, each on mound bases applied with flowers and foliage and mounted on pierced scrollwork ormolu bases with three scrolling branches applied with porcelain flowers and terminating in nozzles with drip-pans (chips to foliage, some chipping to mounted flowers, first figure with restoration to right leg and hands, second with repair to right wrist and half of hat brim restuck)
15¾ in. (40 cm.) high overall, the first figure 6 9/16 in. (16.7 cm.) high; the vintner 7 3/8 in. (18.8 cm.) high (2)
