A MEISSEN GOLD-MOUNTED OVAL SNUFF-BOX AND COVER
CIRCA 1765, THE MOUNT PROBABLY CONTEMPORARY
The cover and sides painted with flowering branches meandering around red staves, the base with a loose bouquet and scattered sprigs, the interior of the hinged cover painted with a couple walking along a quayside before merchants, cargo and ships, the gold mount chased with flowers and scrolls and centred by a shell thumbpiece (minute scratching to edge of base)
