CIRCA 1745-1750, THE GILDING PROBABLY OF LATER DATE
Of bombé rectangular form, the top molded with Venus reclining in a chariot pulled by doves and attended by Cupid and other putti, the sides and bottom molded with other amorous mythological scenes, the interior stipple-painted with Ceres and putti in clouds
1½ in. (3.8 cm.) high; 3½ in. (8.9 cm.) wide
