Lot Essay

This whimsical table lamp is reminiscent of similar Caldwell fixtures produced during the first decades of the 20th century, including full-length standard lamps set on turtle-form supports, an example of which was offered at Christie's, New York, 24 October 2006, lot 440. A related pair of table lamps was offered at Christie's, New York, 28 October 2008, lot 275.
