Dr. Karel Fauser was one of the first collectors of the work of Jan Dibbets. During the mid sixties Dibbets lived for a short time in Enschede, which brought the two into close contact. Inspired by American hard-edge painting, he constructed shaped canvasses with plane bright colour fields (lot 100-102).

This sort of experiment led to his famous Perspective corrections. His later works have their roots in the ideas he developed in these years (lot 103).
