Kent Club, 1842. Grand Cricket Match Kent against England ... on Monday, Aug. 1, 1842, printed handbill with team lists, 380 x 252mm. (laid down on card, some spotting and creasemarks, two punch holes at upper margin). Provenance: A.J. Gaston (with his signature in pencil).

PILCH'S 98 IN THIS MATCH WAS THE HIGHEST SCORE HE EVER MADE FOR KENT; he and Felix put on 154 together for the first wicket. However, despite making a total of 278, Kent lost the three day match, there were accusations of match fixing, and "'Alfred Mynn was hissed in Maidstone market'" (See Kent Cricket Matches 1719-1880, 1929, p. 170).
