The brass frame with scroll frets, central finial to brass bell strap, steel rear plate, side doors lacking, the dial with foliate and flowerhead engraving to the centre and signed 'Spurgin in Colchester', single steel hand, the movement with anchor escapement and countwheel strike on top-mounted bell
