Each with a 19th century moulded rectangular frieze, on foliate-carved S-scrolled supports, joined by S-shaped stretchers, centring on a platform surmounted by a putto, originally gilt, one with associated marble top, the other with later top

Lot Essay

These tables with their strong sculptural legs and stretchers are much indebted to the Italian Baroque style of furniture with its abundant carved ornament. This style was introduced to Austria by Italian craftsmen and sculptors in the early 18th century.
