Burney and Thomas Tomkins, 104 hand-colored aquatints by J. Bluck, J. Stadler, Hill and Sutherland after Thomas Rowlandson and A. Pugin (some light browing, very occasional offsetting to text). Later crimson straight-grain morocco, gilt-panelled, gilt edges by Bayntun (two hinges cracked).
FIRST EDITION, EARLY ISSUE, bound from parts, with pre-publication watermarks, all the errata uncorrected (except for vol. I, p.218) and 5 plates of Abbey and Tooley's list in the first state, including plate 12 "those who dirts their beds will be punished."
