FIRST EDITION of one of the most interesting and reliable contemporary accounts of Mughal India, southern India and Persia where the author visited Isphahan and the southern parts of the country. The plate facing p. 111 may well be the earliest reproduction in the West of an Indian miniature (probably a Deccani painting). The map facing p.60 with a printed key overslip. Wing F-2257.
