HUMPTY DUMPTY -- [MABERLY, Samuel Edward.] ALIQUIS (pseudonym). Pictorial Humpty Dumpty. London: Tilt and Bogue, c.1843. Hand-coloured etched panorama, printed on seven leaves joined (together 90 x 1590mm). (Light wear at extremities, a few small spots, two panels sometime re-joined one of these stitched and now loosening and the other stapled.) In the original hand-coloured printed board and cloth spine (some wear and some soiling, front hinge split).
A rare hand-coloured panorama. The front pastedown, as the copy in the Bodleian, shows the first verse printed in Hebrew, Greek, Latin and German. A copy at the Victoria and Albert adds Welsh and Italian translations. No priority has been established between these variants. ABPC records no copies at auction.
