Egerton, 1789. 2 vols., 4° (304 x 236mm), engraved frontispieces, titles and 31 plates, including folding plan of Newcastle by R. Beilby and 2 folding panoramas of the city by J. Fittler. (Occasional heavy spotting and some offsetting to text.) Contemporary calf-backed boards (worn, upper cover of vol. I detached, vol. II lacking rear cover). Provenance: Joseph Cook 1789 (inscription on title to vol. I; Newton Hall bookplate). The number of plates varies between copies. This copy has all the plates called for in the "Directions to the Binder", and one additional plate opposite I, p. 382. Upcott 1036-1037.
