A SILVER KETTLE-ON-STAND IN THE GEORGIAN STYLE
MARK OF CHARLES STUART HARRIS, LONDON, 1919
Part-fluted oblong with gadroon borders and engraved with coat-of-arms on one side, stand with four claw feet each terminating in an acanthus leaf, plated spirit burner; also a Victorian silver tankard in the late 17th century style, front engraved with inscription from the Parishioners of Bengeo, associated ebonised plinth
kettle-on-stand, 12¼ in. (31 cm.) high
70 oz. (2,170 gr.)
The arms on the kettle are almost certainly that of a WWI general who was made a Knight Commander or a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath and was granted this coat of arms somewhere about 1918. (2)
