Sir William Lemon came from a family of pioneering Cornish mining engineers. He served as MP for Cornwall and was made a baronet in 1774. His wife bore two sons and eight daughters before Sir William died in 1824.

Circular with bead borders and four part-fluted bracket feet, the centre engraved with coat-of-arms within an oval ribbon and wreath cartouche

The arms are those of Sir William Lemon of Carclew, near Falmouth and his wife nee Jane Butler of Morval, Cornwall.
