A Polychrome Stucco Figure of the Teaching Buddha
Gandhara, 5th century
Seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base flanked by two kneeling worshippers, his hands raised in dharmachakramudra and wearing a long robe draped over the left shoulder, the face with aquiline nose and almond-shaped eyes centered by a raised urna, the hair in tight curls and pulled over the ushnisha, with remains of polychromy overall
