Standing contraposto with the weight on the left hip, the left hand at side clasped to hold a lasso and the right raised to hold a sword, both now lost, the skirt bunched at the waist

Lot Essay

Fudo Myoo the Immovable One is one of the Five Wisdom Kings (Myoo) of Esoteric Japanese Buddhism. In his manifestation as a wrathful deity with exposed fangs and fierce stare he protects the faithful against evil.
