A SUPERB RUBY AND DIAMOND BRACELET, BY VAN CLEEF & ARPELS
Designed as a line of seven graduated cushion-shaped and octagonal-cut rubies weighing 1.62, 2.00, 2.35, 3.44, 4.44, 4.99 and 8.16 carats, each in a circular-cut diamond cluster surround with marquise and circular-cut diamond flowerhead spacers, 17.0 cm.
Signed VCA for Van Cleef & Arpels, NY, no. 23615
With certificate 28379 dated 16/8/1995 the SSEF stating that the rubies are of Burmese origin and show no evidence of thermal treatment
This bracelet was formerly in the collection of the Bolivian mining heiress Mrs. Luz Mila Patino, Countess du Boisrouvray. It was sold at auction in New York in October, 1989 for $1,705,000
