A FINELY CARVED WHITE AND RUSSET JADE TOGGLE

Carved in high relief as a blossoming plum bough reserved against the moon, beneath a small cluster of two lingzhi carved in the russet portion of the stone, the concave reverse pierced with a single ingot-shaped aperture

Lot Essay

Both the prunus and lingzhi symbolize longevity. In addition, the five petals of the prunus flower represent the Five Blessings: longevity, wealth, health, love of virtue and a peaceful death. Together, the two convey long life and auspicious wishes for the owner.
