A BLACK-OVERLAY WHITE GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
ATTRIBUTED TO BEIJING, 1770-1820
Of flattened form, carved through the black overlay on one side with the moon rising from clouds beside a large pine tree growing from a rocky outcrop and with a bat suspending a chime above, the reverse with a pavilion borne on clouds emerging from the mouth of a carp leaping from a pond beneath a tall tree, the narrow sides carved with mask and ring handles, glass stopper
